Before Coffeeholic, our founder, Bilal Rasheed, worked in the Merchant Navy. Months away from home brought new places, long working days and one familiar companion: coffee.

A cup on deck as the sun rose. A pause during a demanding day. A familiar ritual, wherever the journey took him.

For Bilal, coffee became something to look forward to. He began exploring different blends, flavours and brewing methods, curious about why one cup could be so much more memorable than another.

That curiosity changed the course of his life.

A passion became a profession.

Bilal began his professional coffee journey in Dubai before moving to Saudi Arabia. There, long days and hands-on experience took him deeper into the business—from learning about coffee and brewing to managing cafés, leading baristas and working in coffee trading.

He learned that the details matter. The beans, the roast, the preparation—and, above all, the person drinking the coffee.

Some customers wanted a bold, chocolatey espresso. Others preferred a lighter, fruitier cup. What brought them back was finding something they enjoyed, served with care.

Then the pandemic brought café closures, uncertainty and difficult decisions. Bilal returned home to support his family. Later, moving to London offered a fresh start—and the chance to build a coffee business of his own.

Coffeeholic grew from that new beginning.
